European Union Referendum Prayer Points |
Join Christian Concern giving thanks for: |
· The democratic freedom to vote in this important referendum. |
· God’s heart for this nation and His mercy and provision in sustaining us. |
· Our national and European leaders who have been appointed by God for our good. |
· The relative peace that has existed in Europe since the Second World War. |
· The many prayers and intercessions by individuals, small groups, churches and other Christian ministries in the UK and beyond our shores regarding the referendum. |
Please join in praying for: |
Before the referendum: |
· A fair, balanced, clear and informative debate on both sides, and that those campaigning would do so with integrity. |
· All issues surrounding the referendum would be highlighted and voters enabled to make an informed decision. |
· Integrity throughout the media, and reports on the proceedings to be honest and balanced. |
· Unity and peace amongst Christians, regardless of which way they vote. |
· Believers across the nation and beyond would cry out and to the Lord and seek His will for the future of the United Kingdom. |
· Strength, peace and wisdom for those campaigning. |
· Leaders of the two groups (Brexit and Remain) to argue on facts and not conjecture, and offer hope and not fear. |
The day of the referendum: |
· Those at polling stations counting the votes, that they would be strengthened to count accurately. |
· God’s will would be done and His best purposes would be brought about. |
· The day would be upheld in prayer by Christians. |
After the referendum: |
· That peace and reconciliation would fall across the whole of the UK regardless of the outcome. |
· For wisdom for national leaders as they make any necessary decisions. |
· For believers to continue committing the nation to Christi for its security & prosperity. |
· It is highly probable that there will be changes in the composition as well as the direction of the government after the referendum: please pray for God’s will to be done amidst these changes, and He would truly be the author of them. |
